Interview with Custom Car Skins Winner, Andre Costa

Ari: You won! Congratulations. Your design was chosen by Jay Rogers, and you will see it come to life! Are you excited to see pictures of Jay's 280SL with your design on it?

André: Oh yes, can´t wait to see how it will look in real life! Also, this will be the second real life project of my career, really excited! :D

(the first project to come to life is Andre's Peugot moovie)

Ari: You did a wonderful job of designing for one specific person. Do you have any suggestions for your fellow community members on how they can learn more about the Car Skins customers and design something as personal as what you created for Jay?

André: the only advice I have is read and re-read what the customer writes on the briefing, it´s VERY important, read, see the mood board alot, then sketch a lot. In this competition the story of the car was very important, I´m glad I was able to pass it to the skin.

Ari: What is your favorite feature of your design, "John&Alice"?

André: The side pin stripes with the initials, it was the first idea I had for the project and it´s so personal, love it.

Ari: Now that we have finished the very first Custom Car Skins competition, it is time we refine the process. What changes should we create to make these competitions more enjoyable and successful for you as a designer?

André: Can´t tell really, the sketchup helped me a lot deciding some stuff, the most important thing in such a competition is definatly the contact with the customer.
Maybe more days for the voting? Seemed little just one or two days.

Best regards
André.
