Community Driven Project at Local Motors

I'd like to turn your attention to a very exciting development within the Local Motors community. Completely unprompted, idesigncars proposed a community design project. He has a block of foam that he has to use and invited anyone who is interested to participate in the process of ideation, design and (I think) even modeling.

This is incredible. Check out the collaboration and join the group. There really isn't any formality, just an open call.

This is what the Local Motors community is all about!

It is exciting to see community members taking charge, and making what THEY want happen - without any prompting at all. We know how capable everyone is, and we know you have very specific desires when it comes to the type of cars you want to see on the road.

We are committed to doing whatever we can to make this possible.

To do this, we are watching and learning from the community members. Tim Thomas saw that the group needed an FTP, or simply a way to save and share images. So within a few days Tim went to work and came up with a very simple, workable solution.

"Hi idesigncars and all, I can throw together a simple repository for participants of this project where you could upload larger files as well as actual photoshop files. It would simply be like a web-based large hard drive and images that you want to appear in the checkup here would have to be posted separately in the normal way, and would not ... How much file space do you think you would need for this project?" - Tim

So tell us, what else do you want/need to help bring these projects to life, and to aid in your collaboration?
